Headspace Day is a national day of support for the mental health and well-being of all young Australians.
On headspace day we want to encourage all young Australians to learn some simple tips to help manage their mental health and well-being. We know that young people are resilient and with the right support and tools they can respond to life's challenges in a healthy and positive way.
This year's theme for headspace day is, 'Add a little colour to your day.' By using mindful colouring we are bringing our seven healthy headspace tips to life in communities all over Australia. We are also encouraging people to share the small things they do to support their mental health.
Seven tips for a healthy headspace
- Get into life and do stuff that's important to you
- Learn new ways to handle tough times
- Build close and connected relationships
- Eat well
- Stay active
- Get enough sleep
- Cut back on alcohol and other drugs

Mental Health Week (7 – 13 October) and World Mental Health Day (10 October) are international events aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilising efforts in support of mental health.
World Mental health day encourages people to talk about mental health, and take care of their own well-being and the well-being of others.
World Mental Health Day 2018 focuses on the slogan ‘Do you see what I see?’ with the aim of challenging negative perceptions around mental illness and encouraging people to view mental illness in a more positive light.
